Hemorrhage or Sinister Strike

You have both, which one is better? The answer lies in a combination of your weapon speed, attack power, and whether or not Sinister Strike is talented. For every 14 attack power you have multiplied by the difference in your weapon speed and 1.7 (for daggers) and 2.4 (for all other weapons) your Hemorrhage does +.1 damage relative to Sinister Strike. To make it easier to relate to, every 300 attack power is a little over +2 damage (2.14 to be exact), and you multiply this by (weapon speed - 1.7) for daggers and (weapon speed - 2.4) for all other weapons. The slowest dagger you can get is 2.0 speed, and the slowest one-handed "nondagger" weapon you can get is 2.8 speed. If you happen to fall in the red area on the chart then use Sinister Strike, those who reside in the green region should be using Hemorrhage.

Now comes the fun part! Take your weapon damage maximum and minimum and average this number—this is your Hemorrhage damage (say 250). Then you look at this chart and find ( the number closest to your character, if you had a 2.8 speed mace you would look in the +.4 sec column and if your attack power was 1175 you would select 34.24.

Then add 92 (Sinister Strike damage bonus) minus this number (34.24 in this example) to your weapon damage (250 + 92 - 34.24 = 307.76). In order to figure out which one is better, you divide your Sinister Strike damage by your Hemorrhage damage (307.76/250 = 1.23 in this case). Once you have this, it is simple to determine how to get the most direct damage out of your energy between finishing moves. Your final number here is represented by X below.
